Painted on Martha's Vineyard, MA, at Cape Poge, July 16, in 4 1/2 hours (journal) while visiting
Richard Parmenter ("RP" inscription). Building is R.P.'s backhouse and there is a bit of sea and sky. The
painting was a gift of ED to the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1969 and subsequently sold by the
university.
