Painted on Nantucket, MA, September 9 on Madeket Beach, (journal). Only this fragment of the 15/21 painting survives. Inscribed on reverse: "E W Madaket / Dickinson E D " "painted a 21/15 -poor save for a good cloud @ 60 MPH which I made up."
