Notes: Painted in Wellfleet, MA, February 22, 23. (journal). At present the painting has been put by ED on a smaller stretcher than the one on which it was painted and there may be inscriptions along the original edges. It may be signed "E W Dickinson" across the top but the paint is very thin.
Model was Evangeline du Bois, a Wellfleet girl who worked in Newcombe's Soda Shoppe. She is also the subject of a painting of 1941 in the Minnesota Museum of Art. CR#
