ED worked at this abandoned and crumbling church with painter Raymond Eastwood, [1898-?] also painting its tower, now lost. Letters to his fiancÈe, Frances (Pat) Foley, convey his emotional involvement with this romantic ruin: sounds of plaster falling, most window panes gone, kingfishers and woodpeckers flying about "and my easel was set in pew #52 !"
