Painted in New York, NY. To Tibi, July 24, 1917: "I have just finished a 2 sitting small oil on canvas
(16 x 16) of an east side street here - ghetto, Hungarian section or something - lot of women babies kids etc
in the street & on the side walk - dingy doorways a lamp-post - push cart etc - largely gray and a girl in the
foreground has on a dark peacock-blue dress and one beside her with long red hair."
