ED note on reverse: "Drawn The day of the loss of the `Castagna' 17 Feb. 1914 I was on the beach before sunrise & also Margaret Eckerson who took the photograph E W Dickinson Wellfleet 16 Sept 1950". Journal, September 6, 1950, "In the geology book which Mother gave to Father in 1888, I found a drawing marked '2 Feb 1914 South Wellfleet', the day of the loss of the 'Castagna'." [2-17-14 must be the correct date, HDB.]
