Painted in Wellfleet, MA, June 25 (journal), of the Cove in front of the Dickinson house. The "Cross Rip" was ECD's sailboat and "Drifter" his rowboat. ED note: "wind is from the SSW""If any of the family with me when painting I always put it in."
