The Academy awarded it the First Prize for Portraiture in the 124th Annual Autumn Exhibition, the Evelyn
Clair Lockman Prize.
On a bank deposit slip for the prize check, ED wrote: "$1200. = Prize for the self portrait, profile, L. ear, & white coat."
