Painted in Wellfleet, MA, August 21, "(Spence's house, etc) vertical sea weed high tide mark in
center.", (journal). The date and inscription on right refer to birthday of ED's sister, Tibi. Inscriptions on left indicate both the painting's date and that of it as a christening gift August 24, 1948 to the goddaughter of ED and FD, Elizabeth "Sandy" Dick, daughter of old friend and Dickinson collector Sheldon Dick.
