"Studio arranging for a self portrait", October 14 he planning a new piece, 20 he "overhauled" a stretcher of 1914 for painting of"Old Man Hines, Mayme Noons, Frances Silva," CR#, 21 stretched it for his self portrait, begun October 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 October,"(abandoned 48x60 of myself.)" (journal). November 17 "Took off self portrait 4x5 preparatory to commencing a new piece on this canvas." (journal). This canvas used for Ruin at Daphne, CR#.
