Painted in Brewster, MA, August 4 at Foster's Landing (journal). Rock on left is that painted July 21, "Great Boulder, Brewster", CR # .(journal). ED note: "Premier coup. Painted while waiting for Helen to take her music lesson at the Cape Cod Music School." The rocks are "erratic boulders," rocks left behind by the glacier as it receded after the Ice Age. They are abundant on Cape Cod and ED took great pleasure in them.
