Painted in Wellfleet, MA, February 23, 24, 25, March 1, 21 (journal). The French frame which was
used as format for this portrait was also used for "Constant" in the same year and "Self-Portrait in Uniform"
in 1942. Painted pansies at lower right refer to Helen's childhood nickname "Pansy." Helen is posed nude
and reflected in a mirror with drapery over the top.
