Painted in Wellfleet, MA, October 5 from Indian Neck Inlet (journal). FD note: "In background is Great Beach Hill where we used to walk. This is a view toward the west over the marsh that divides north Indian Neck from South Indian Neck. In the distance across Wellfleet Harbor, lies Great Island." [Journal July 4, 1954, M. Hutchins wants to buy "Father's Marsh." July 27 M. Hutchins wires she wants it at $650, 30th a check from her, August 2 it sent to her, 9 he sent Tibi $25 from it, the amount his father had paid for it on his 85th birthday when he present while it painted.] move to below
