Painted in Wellfleet, MA, August 24, 25 in East room of house, Helen was paid 15 cents to pose (journal). ED note: Helen "wearing a coat that my mother fixed in front [ca. 1896] to resemble one similiar to a Cadet's at West Point." FD painted Helen at the same time.
