Painted in Sanary-sur-Mer, France, February 17 (journal), in Villa Sinaia, (rented by the Dickinsons). "Pansy" was Helen's childhood nickname.ED remarks: "Premier coup. This picture is marked `Pansy.' Helen was in bed in our villa in Sanary, Var." [Var is the Department of France where Sanary is].
