Drawn in Athens, Greece, December 4, 5, 6, 8, (journal) on the Acropolis."Felt poorly but the rock & appreciation of it enabled me to do well & feel very exhilarated." (journal). To Tibi, December 7, 1961: "I am dong a carefull [sic] ambitious drawing of the 3rd pillar from the right as one sees the front of the Parthenon from photographs."
