Painted in Buffalo, NY, February 21 (tried to paint still life), painted it 24, March 28, 29, (journal). Letters to FD February 21; "this PM started a flower still life." February 22, ". . . gave up Niagara Falls piece in favor of a flower piece in the studio." [This the only reference to a proposed Niagara Falls piece]. In "Flower Piece" same mirrored piece of furniture appears in drawing of Esther Hill Sawyer, 1931, CR#.Provenance
